Cell Phone Picture: Forbidden Love!

For this picture, ignore the messiness that is my desk at work and focus on the two main characters in the foreground. Oh my! What happened for this picture was that I put my notebook underneath whatever Pedro Armadillovar was sitting on and suddenly Pedro and Bernard the pterodactyl were kissing! An armadillo may love a pterodactyl but where would they live?! :-/ I love how my triceratops looks scarred for life and my Freud bobblehead is analyzing the situation. “Hrmmm… curious… curious indeed…” Hahaha…
I hope you all have wonderful (and safe) holiday weekends (woot woot! 3 day weekend!)… anyone doing anything awesomely amazing?

Tommy Toe

Awwww! Baby tomato! The funny thing about this picture is that I took it a few weeks ago and now there is actually a baby tomato in the place of this flower (should have done some time lapse so you could see it morph into a tomato…)! Yay! Baby tomatoes… yum… I love summer. This year we planted lemon cucumbers, Mayan Love Peppers (google them, I can’t find a fun link), sugar snap peas, and strawberries. Then my friend Paul gave me this happy tomato plant and we got some fun herb plants (such as mint and basil and chives!). Wow!
I have to note that this is the first summer I have actually been successful at having a mini garden. I can’t wait for everything to grow up and make tasty fruit! Go plants, go! :D

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! :D

Apparently I have been so busy with everything that I forgot that I have absolutely NO new black and white pictures (if you don’t count all those color accent pictures I’ve been posting like a fiend recently). But it doesn’t really matter because today is my parents’ wedding anniversary and that is more important than sticking to my silly rules. So yeah! Happy anniversary parents! I love you guys! I hope you have a wonderful anniversary! :) This top picture was taken on Christmas Eve in 2010 but just to give you more happy pictures of my parents, here is a picture I took during our annual vacation to Yosemite in 2008. Note that Mom is wearing a Los Alamos, NM hat. That’s right. We support you, Los Alamos! :D

Speaking of Los Alamos, Las Conchas fire update: over 60,000 acres burning and 0% contained at 10:00 pm last night. So far Los Alamos and the lab are safe so that is good. Let’s get this baby contained! Everyone reading this post, let’s do a rain dance together today! Ready….. GO! *dances*

Los Alamos

If you don’t immediately associate today’s post with the Las Conchas fire or with evacuation and possibly losing your home, you should probably go google the “Las Conchas fire” near Los Alamos, NM. I feel so helpless here in Colorado, far away from everything crazy going on down there. So this is my way of showing support to those who have been evacuated and those who are working hard to contain this crazy wildfire. Seriously, if there is anything I can actually do to help, please let me know. *goes and does a rain dance*
I think this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. See for yourself:

Portrait: The red stuff

Hello Monday!
Today I am posting this picture of my sister! Cobalt and I went to visit her this weekend and she took us to her favorite coffee shop in town! While we were enjoying our drinks, I busted out the baby camera and played some more with my favorite mode, color accent. Normally I don’t like using it with pink colors because it always bleeds into the subject’s skin color. In this case though, I think it adds a bit of artsy-ness to the picture. :)

Cell phone picture: What crazy creature is this?!

Yay! A post two days in a row! :) Today’s cell phone picture comes from my old room… I moved into a new house about a month ago and I took this picture as I was taking stuff off my old walls. Basically, it comes from a set of wall decals that you can use to make your room look super decorated. I was ripping them off my wall (they don’t like to come off in one piece apparently/sadly) when I decided that this chunk of wall decal actually looked kind of neat! Tada! A blog cell phone picture was born! :) I’ve decided that I don’t want to tell you what it actually is/used to be. Instead tell me what you think it looks like! :) I think it looks like a lurking creature or a guy in a scuba mask… Thoughts?

Haven’t you ever wanted to hug a narwhal?

All right friends, Let’s try this again. I haven’t posted on here in what seems like millennia… Not really sure why. I guess life taking over…
Well let’s go! Yay! Today is a free day and in celebration of it, I am going to advertise some super cute/HUGE stuffed animals, like this guy up there. The website is Squishable.com! Anyway, this website/super fat stuffed animals have been pretty popular with my friends recently (one even suggested that Cobalt and I have fat stuffed animals as our table centerpieces for our wedding reception). I thought I would share one of my favorite fat stuffed animal websites so you all can witness the cuteness. The narwhal is my favorite. How about you guys?

Dusty Flower

Yay! More fun with Color Accent mode on the SD1400IS camera! Today’s picture is done with color accent and macro mode. Whoa. This one isn’t as nicely put together as the sharks from Tuesday I think. Parts of the flower that were in the sun were apparently not red enough to show up as red here. Oh well… still looks kind of neat. Looks like the flower got a little dust on its petals…

One blue shark

Ooooo I got a new baby camera this weekend (>_<). This picture is from the Canon Powershot SD1400IS. My favorite mode so far is Color Accent. I played with this mode alllllllll weekend. Anyway, here are my stuffed sharks on my bed demonstrating my first example of how fun Color Accent can be. Only the small spotted blue shark is in color (even though the fat shark behind him is also blue – though a much different shade of blue). Fun times!!!
